Digital Projects

Listed below are some Digital Projects done by fellow classmates of PIPD3250 (Instructional Strategies) that I found to be of great interest, along with my own project:

Case Studies
This is my digital project on how case studies can be used as an instructional strategy technique. The tool is a great way to get students to get engaged by participating in a scenario that allows them to use their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. They also learn to develop team building and presentation skills. Enjoy the clip below:

Jeopardy in the Classroom
This digital project was created by Bryce Pool. I thought the site was amazingly well done. The GoAnimate application is a great tool to capture the audience and get the message across. I really loved the animation! The background music was a nice touch to keep the reader engaged in the clip. Bryce does a great job in explaining the game Jeopardy and how it can be incorporated as a valuable instructional strategy tool. He talks about the the benefits of the game, as it can be easily adapted to most learning situations and that it includes the learners in the process. A great job! Enjoy the clip below:

Instructional Scaffolding

The second  Digital Project I reviewed was done by Agnes Nagy using PowToons software. This was an amazing little video clip that used cartoon characters to explain the concept of instructional scaffolding. The music in the background kept the reader engaged and involved in the learning. I think Agnes did a very good job in explaining the technique using the cartoon characters, talking about its pros and cons - and how it is applied in the learning. For example, I never considered things such as cue cards, handouts, concept maps, etc. to be known as instructional scaffolding tools - but it makes sense. Another great job! Enjoy the clip below:
